Are you looking for a fun and creative way to immerse your students in the 13 colonies? Use this colonial journal template as an ongoing writing assignment to deepen student understanding of the content. With this journal, students take on the role of a child living in the 13 colonies. They must come up with a colonial name, hometown, an appropriate occupation for their parents, and daily duties and maintain this persona as they respond to teacher created prompts in their journal.
This journal is a perfect scaffold for a Colonial project, or as a stand alone assignment. You will receive a cover page, with a space for students to write their colonial and given names, as well as two spaces for journal entries, one space for a student created glossary, and one space for students (or their teachers) to describe their "colonial" background.
The document is already set up to print out a perfect booklet using double sided printing, just print at least two copies of the last page.
