Here is the information packet I use for students and parents about creating and hosting a Living Wax Museum of characters from three content areas - Social Studies, Science, and Language Arts!
The alignment with the font I use does not carry over - so feel free to reformat the word document as needed!
For the museum, students dress up as historical figures, events, literary characters, and scientific elements. Students line the hallways and stand frozen with a small coin collection bucket. When change or money is deposited in, the students "come alive" and deliver a 10-15 monologue about their character. It is FABULOUS!
I have done this event for six years and each year it gets better and better!
Included in this packet is an informational letter for parents, permission slip for particpation, responsibilities of participants, character choice list, and character choice slip. I have left out all dates, teacher names, etc. so you can easily fill them in to create your own amazing Living Wax Museum!
This is a fantastic opportunity to make your content come alive, have students be excited about their learning, and get parents as well as the community involved. We use our museum as a fundraiser to help offset costs of field trips and end of the year events.
Feel free to google my name + wax museum to see photos from past museums, or visit my website at www.misspew.com as well!
