•Provide student vocabulary word and meaning/definition. (on white board or smartboard)

•Student draws a picture to match meaning

•Student writes a sentence using vocabulary word.

Living and Non-Living Sort:

•Students can first color pictures at bottom of paper.

•Students cut then glue pictures into correct column.

Is it Living?:

•Is it living chart can be used for assessment or group instruction.

•Print and use on chart paper or pass out to students to complete.

•Students or teacher will draw a picture or cut out a picture from a magazine.

•Students will then decide if the item is living or not by completing the chart. If item has all checks then it is living, if it does not have all checks then it is not a living organism.

Characteristics of Living Organisms:

•Is it living chart can be used for assessment or group instruction.

•Students will draw a picture or write what makes an organism living. It breaths or needs air. It needs food. It moves. It grows. It reproduces.

Living and Non-Living Scavenger Hunt:

•Student go outside and find the items on the list.

•Students write L next to Living and N next to Non-Living.

Is it Living? Journal:

•Student choose a picture to draw.

•Students then complete chart at bottom of page to decide if item is living or non-living.

Living and Non-Living Write the Room:

•Print, cut out, and laminate picture cards.

•Place picture cards around the room or place in sensory bucket.

•Worksheets can be used for differentiation or increasing difficulty through the week
