This is a science lesson bundled into a PowerPoint presentation. First, the students will see brilliant pictures as they learn about living and non-living things and how to tell which is which. Helpful hints help them distinguish between living and non-living things.
Then, we'll begin with the first two levels of Bloom's Taxonomy as we test for remember and understand. An interactive quiz is included which allows students to click and get immediate feedback as to whether they answered correctly or not. If they are not sure of the answer, they can also click a button to get hints about living and nonliving things.
Next, the PowerPoint leads into a group activity on the 3rd and 4th levels of Bloom's taxonomy, as it asks them to apply what they have learned in a group setting and analyze other things to determine if they are living or non living things.
Finally, the last activity gives them an opportunity to use technology themselves and create a presentation about a habitat that they design with both living and non-living things. Then, they have a chance to evaluate the habitats created by other groups to determine if the other groups have correctly labeled their items as living and non-living and whether the other criteria has also been met. This last activity incorporates levels 5 and 6 of Bloom's taxonomy.
Because of the nature of this product, the answers on the last two activities will be extremely varied. There is no answer key for this section. The embedded quiz gives immediate feedback for those answers. There is a very simple example provided for the habitat in the second group activity.
