PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

In Kindergarten, I focus on Reading Literacy more than Science and Social Studies. To make sure I teach Science and Social Studies, I often incorporate them during my whole group Reading Comprehension lessons. In this week-long lesson, I use living and nonliving to focus attention on informational texts and writing. This early in the year I focus on drawing details and dictating drawings to assess student understanding of the standard. This lesson plan covers nonfiction, informational texts, informational writing/ drawing, and living and nonliving. I included assessment prompts, differentiated strategies, and summary activities.
