Here are three activities dealing with living and nonliving:
1. A group sort for students to practice living versus nonliving. There are 12 different real life pictures for students to sort.
2. An experiment The students observe, compare, and contrast a gummi worm and an earthworm using a recording sheet. I get paper plates, popsicle sticks, real earthworms, and gummi worms and give my students one of each so they can observe.
3. An independent sort of living and nonliving pictures for students to sort as an assessment. An answer key is included with this.
My students LOVE getting to see a live earthworm and it really helps them learn the concept!
