Instructions – 35 pages
I have designed this for my own grade. They are in their first year of school, but I have some students who are working one or more years beyond their expected level.
This pack caters for the differentiation I need for my own students
Task One – cards for sorting. Copy on color, laminate and cut. Allow the students to have time to explore the pictures. Ask them to sort and discuss why/how they are sorted
Task Two - Use the label cards – Living and Non living or dead or alive. Choose which pair to use. Let the students sort the pictures under the headings chosen
Task Three – Cut and sort
Task Four – Use the recording sheet to list the items after there has been a discussion. You can use the cards or have a walk around the room or school yard
Task Five – Use magazines or newspapers to cut out pictures of living and living things. Use the headers provided to place on the top of large sheets of card
Task Six - Is it living or non loving and why? – state your reasons
Task Seven - Reflection sheet – what makes something living or non living?
