A simple graphic organizer is employed in this assignment to organize a collage of living and nonliving items cut out of magazines or newspapers. Great activity for the beginning of the unit. Challenge students with pictures of things like fire and water which have some characteristics of life, but are not alive.
Can easily be adapted for younger students depending on level and ability.
