Science TEKS K.9 A: Differentiate between living and nonliving things based upon whether they have basic needs and produce offspring; and
K.9 B: Examine evidence that living organisms have basic needs such as food, water, and shelter for animals and air, water, nutrients, sunlight, and space for plants.
Students will explore the difference between living and nonliving things, and compare them. The PowerPoint is designed to be used with a real aquarium with live fish and nonliving things (such as rocks). After the lesson, students will sort pictures (included) into living and nonliving things.
