When students walk into your classroom, they have preconceived ideas of what the word evolution means. In this simple activity, students will see that evolution simply means change. Each student will play the role of a different species of lizard. Due to environmental conditions, some of the lizards will survive and some will die. Students will learn that environmental pressures can cause populations to change over time.
