This partner games, based on the book "Franklin and The Thunderstorm" works perfectly in Grades 1-3. Students are engaged with a partner during Literacy Block time, reading to someone and then taking turns picking a task card and searching for the supporting details from the story to verify their answers.
You can also use this activity as a reading response or comprehension check after reading the book.
My students love it! Not only are they strengthening their cooperative learning skills, they are reading and writing in a fun, supportive environment.
There are 14 question cards based on the book and 6 writing activities for Work on Writing in your daily 5. This book is an excellent addition to any weather unit.
