The following rubrics were created to use as an evaluation/assessment tool for the locomotorskills walking, skipping, and galloping. It is strictly a guide. It is not designed to be a grade for students but merely a guide the teacher can use to help with the teaching process. The goal is to break down the skills and provide insight to what each stage of development would look like. Each category provides a description of what a teacher might see as the students perform the skills.
If you want to assess the entire class, paste your student’s names in the class rubric. Use the rubric during the lesson to do a quick assessment of each student.
I have included 2 individual student rubrics (pre & post-test) if you need individual student data. You may transfer your scores and notes from the class rubric to the individual student rubric. This could be given to parents as documentation for student progress and to help the parents understand what is being taught. This could also be used as documentation for the North Carolina Teacher Evaluation standards if documentation is needed for support. Also, it is great to provide to administration when documentation is needed supporting the standard being taught.
