This resource is designed to provoke students’ logical thinking. It consists of a variety of related problems. The activity requires knowledge of the basic logarithmic and exponential properties and the use of logarithms and exponentials as inverses. Students will practice
• solving simple logarithmic equations. Problems types include solving for the base b, the argument x, or the exponent y
• simplifying simple logarithmic and exponential expressions
• determining whether logarithmic functions/expressions exist
There are two different versions of this individual practice with similar problems. Students write their solutions and answers directly on the worksheets. They will be fascinated by the pretty answers of the most of the problems.
Full solutions and answer keys are included.
