How to review withOUT drill and kill: Logic Line-Ups. I use this Logic Line-Up in my Science classes to review the layers of the Earth (crust, mantle, outer and inner core). Help students identify Earth's layers, and describe the scientific theory of plate tectonics and/ how the movement of Earth’s crustal plates and the flow of heat and material cause various geologic events to occur.
Develop your students' thinking skills with hands-on cooperative logic activities. You copy the provided picture cards and clues for your students. They work in teams to figure out how to use the clues to line up their cards in the correct order. Build your students' deductive thinking skills, spatial reasoning, spatial vocabulary, and teamwork skills with these ready-to-use, logic activities. You'll find problems, answers and reproducible, line-up cards.
It covers the following Florida Next Generation Sunshine State Standard Benchmarks in Science: SWBAT
SC.7.E.6.1 Describe the layers of the solid Earth, including the lithosphere, the hot convecting mantle, and the dense metallic liquid and solid cores.
SC.7.E.6.7 Recognize that heat flow and movement of material within Earth causes earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, and creates mountains and ocean basins.
SC.912.E.6.1 Describe and differentiate the layers of Earth and the interactions among them.
