Product Description
This is a collection of 8, count 'em, 8 different "Yogi-isms" that have to do with some mis-statement of a mathematical concept, featuring a writing prompt in the form of a letter to Yogi Berra explaining his mathematical mistake.

The statements include:

"90% of baseball is mental; the other half is physical."

“You have to give 100 percent in the first half of the game. If that isn’t enough, in the second half, you have to give what is left.”

When Yogi ordered a pizza, the waitress asked how many pieces he wanted it cut into. Yogi replied, “Cut it into 4 slices; I don’t think I’m hungry enough to eat 8.”

Yogi talking about the game of golf:
“80% of the balls that don’t reach the hole don’t go in.”

“A nickel ain’t worth a dime anymore.”

This is a fun and non-threatening way for you to assess your students' understanding of important mathematical concepts, including fractions, percents and decimals.
