Description

If you are looking for a fun way to challenge your students and sharpen their deductive reasoning skills, then logic puzzles are the way to go!

Please note that this particular logic puzzle is a "triple matrix" meaning the matrix has three sections going across and three sections going down. They will be matching up four different elements for their solution. It is more challenging than a single (matching just two elements) or double matrix (matching three elements), so I recommend trying those first. Once students get the hang of the Xs and Os and understand how it works, then you can move to larger puzzles!

If you want to try some for free, please click here to see my Logic Puzzle Freebie.

*I did include 3rd grade in my description because I believe your puzzle-loving students will be able to graduate up to this level after trying the smaller ones.

If you are wondering what a logic puzzle is, it is a puzzle where you use clues, a grid, and some deductive reasoning to figure out who matches with what, or what items go together. It is a great way to exercise your students' brains!

This would also be great early finisher work, early work, or even a center!

This set includes:

♦ Instructions on how to complete logic puzzles

♦ a triple matrix logic puzzle

♦ key for the puzzle

* the logic puzzle is full-page in the PDF, but can be printed 2 to a page and still very clear and easy to read! I also print them in B&W to solve and edit, and they look great.

If your students enjoyed this challenge and you want more "Triple Matrix" logic puzzles, then you may want to take a look at my new series of Triple Matrix Logic Puzzles. I have completed Set 1 and will go until I have at least 10 sets completed.

If you want to see the large variety of logic puzzles both holiday/seasonal and non-seasonal, you can find them all here: Logic Puzzles

If you have no idea what a logic puzzle is, you can see some instructions here from a company that publishes logic puzzles. However, I do include instructions in my unit as well. This may give you a good idea of what I'm talking about:
