This worksheet (10 pages) accompanies a presentation consisting of 66 slides which clearly delineate definitions of logic and fallacies using a variety of real-world scenarios (advertising, speeches, situations). Answers are in the accompanying PowerPoint presentation (available separately). The presentation includes an Opposing Viewpoint Chart, types of communication (discussion, disagreement, argument), objective vs. subjective argument, argument identification, facts vs. inferences vs. opinions, premises/conclusion differentiation, deductive vs. inductive reasoning methods, fallacies of ambiguity (equivocation, etc.), fallacies of relevance (appeal to pity, etc.), and fallacies of presumption (hasty generalizations, etc.).
This is an excellent resource for introducing groups of any age (elementary to college and beyond) to logic. I developed and use this within a 5th grade classroom with great success. I plan to develop further materials and add/expand curriculum accordingly. If you have specific requests, send a message for incorporation. Enjoy!
Presentation to accompany this worksheet is included as a separate purchase if desired.
