My students really struggle with logical thinking problems, such as "Claire is 6 years older than Matt. The sum of their ages is 38. How old are they?" Similar problems involve 3 categories (i.e. 3 children and their ages). This Power Point walks students through the thinking process and how to guess and check different pairs/groups of numbers to find the ones that fit the given clues. 3 problems with 2 categories and 4 problems with 3 categories are provided.
