This interactive lesson provides students with a hands-on activity to learn how to solve a long division problem!
Learning long division can be a difficult skill to teach, but by using this interactive lesson your students will be more likely to learn and remember the steps of dividing. This lesson uses the mnemonic device ‘Does McDonalds Serve Burgers Raw?’ to represent the steps of long division (divide, multiply, subtract, bring down and repeat).
I have provided a template in which the students will color, cut and paste to a separate sheet of paper *or could be a great piece to add to a math journal!
This product includes:
- A procedures page, including the Common Core Standard, step-by-step directions, a photo example and a proficiency scale for students to reflect upon the lesson.
- A ‘Long Division’ template
*This lesson is a part of an Interactive Math Journal that I use in my classroom but can be used as a single lesson as well. Check out my store for more interactive lessons!
