Long division is a tough concept to teach! Get your students engaged and involved with this fun activity. Students will work to practice the steps of long division using the mnemonic trick of "Does McDonald's Serve Cheese Burgers?" Students will be given a division card that they must solve. Division problems start out at a lower level (with each number dividing evenly into the divisor) and progress to more challenging equations. This will help you naturally differentiate to enable those students ready and able to move at a faster pace to do so while you can provide support and modeling to those who need more time. As a student solves each problem they earn a piece of a cheeseburger. The goal is to make a cheeseburger with many toppings to showcase your learning! Great for small groups and centers!
