Long Division Scavenger Hunt Game: Practice long division with this fun scavenger hunt game. Your students will have a blast and will ask you for more. Includes 1 digit and 2 digit divisors. 2 games included

Directions:
-Tape long division sheets (12 of them) to the walls around your room or hang from the ceiling (spread out). Make sure you don’t tape them in the order that they print. In fact, the more out of order, the better.

-Break up class into 12 groups.

-Hand each student a copy of the recording sheet.

-Place each pair or group of students at any of the 12 stations.
Each stations sheet has a code, which students will enter on their recording sheet as they answer each question. This is to keep track of the problems they have solved.

-Students work with partners to solve the problem on the paper and record it on their sheet. Then, they look for the answer they just recorded until they find it. Once they find it, they solve the problem on that sheet and so on until all stations have been visited.

-If they cannot locate their answer, that means they made a mistake.

-Students will end up where they started from

Directions:

-Students will discover that each set of questions have the same answer (A and B)

Game # 4:

Long Division Showdown:: Practice long division with this fun Showdown game. Your students will have a blast and will ask you for more.

Directions:

-Teacher breaks up class into groups of 4 or less and distributes materials

-Each group gets a set of long division question cards. Place in order (1-24) face down in the center of group. Card # 1 should be at the top and card # 24 at the bottom

-Each group gets a set of long division answer cards with the work shown. Place in order (1-24) face down in the center of group. Card #1 should be at the top and card #24 at the bottom.

-The teacher selects one student in each group to be the Showdown Captain for the fist round and asks him/her to pass the materials to each team member

-The teacher explains that the Showdown Captain will turn over the card with the first question and show it to all team members. Then each team member will answer the question individually on their dry erase boards or paper and turn their answers face down on the table in front of them.

When the captain gives the Showdown signal, all team members will reveal their responses at once. Captain pulls the answer key card to review answers. The players with correct answers score 1 point. Captain records points on Score Board. If anyone has the incorrect answer, the team will coach their team members to correct their answers.

-The student at the left of the Showdown Captain will become Showdown Captain for the next round.

-Repeat from step 5 for each round. Add up points at the end to see who collected the most.

Hope you and your students enjoy.
