Product Description
This package outlines 3 long division instructional methods along with methods to scaffold each. Two of the instructional methods are different from the traditional way of long division in that they only have 2 steps. I always teach multiple ways of solving for long division problems (and outline them with this package), but realized most of my kids learn using the "Mighty Smart" method (included) the easiest (no tears here) and retain it better!

" This is amazing. It has really helped my students."

"I think this is the WAY to teach long division. This is SO much easier than the traditional method. I had a parent actually come to my room and hug me for teaching their child this method!!"

In this long division made easy package called "Mighty Smart Long Division," I describe and model with worked problems and think-alouds how to easily solve long division problems using my "Mighty Smart" scaffolded method along with other methods. In one session I had with a student, I took her from not being able to do any long division, to being able to do 6th grade long division (4th grade student)! This is a strategy toolkit every long division teacher will want to add to their collection!

And guess what...I also threw in my differentiated "Beach Days" division board game that I sell on TPT too! Description below. With this combo, you are sure to have a class of "Mighty Smart" students!

Differentiated Division Board Game, "Beach Days" Description:

Students race from the beach hut to the sand castle by answering division questions. Teachers can also use the game cards for other activities such as solve and compare/order the numbers or pass out the cards for students to write word problems for(then everyone rotates papers to solve). The game board can be used with other skills as well. Division problems are differentiated by 3 color coded card sets. (2-6 players)

The first level includes 1 digit by 1 digit and two digit by 1 digit. With and without remainders.

The second set includes 2 digit by 2 digit, 3 digit by 1 digit, and 3 digit by 2 digit. With and without remainders.

The last set includes 3 digit by 2 digit, 4 digit by 1 digit, 4 digit by 2 digit, 4 digit by 3 digit, 5 digit by 2 digit, and 5 digit by 1 digit. With and without remainders.
