Students practice long division that result in whole numbers and numbers with decimals in this math pennant activity that doubles as classroom decor. Once a pennant is complete, it can be hung along a string in your classroom to show the world that, "Hey, we know long division!"
There are 30 math pennants plus 2 blanks to make your own long division problems. The pennants are differentiated so that every student can work on his or her own level. The blank pennants allow you to customize the activity even further. Also includes an optional student answer sheet and an answer key.
The first 10 pennants are the easiest (example: 870 / 6)
The next 10 pennants are slightly harder (example: 5824 / 7)
The last 10 pennants result in decimal answers that are repeating or non-repeating (example: 4671 / 5)
Each group of students can be given a set of pennants, crayons, scissors and either glue, tape or a stapler. Students can be in charge of cutting out the pennants. Groups can compete to see which group can complete the most pennants or your entire class can add pennants to one string as they complete each one.
