Game 1: Long E Dominos- In this game students will play dominos with long e words and will be matching a word and a picture. This is a great activity for those struggling readers who still need the pictures to help with a word! They will love building their domino train with all of the new words they are learning!
Game2: Leap Along Word Maze- In this long e word game students will help Mr. Frog get to his favorite lilly pad by finding the words that have a long e sound. Be careful that he doesn't land on a lilly pad that will sink, the words that do not follow the long e sound. This is a great hanging chart game where you as the teacher can create the path and the students get to try and discover if Mr. Frog makes it or not.
Game 3: Leap Along Word and Picture Maze- This game is exactly like game 2 only it has pictures matching the words for those struggling readers! Two of the same game that are already differentiated for you!!
Game 4: Long E Seal Steal- In this game students will be trying to find the matching picture and word to each seal. When they find a match they will ballance the ball on the seals nose. In the end they will have a school of seals all with a matching ball to the word they have on them!
Game 5: Shake It Up...Match It Up!- In this game students will be doing a whole lot of shaking! Students will place all of the playing pieces in a container and shake them up! They will then dump them out and try to find matches for only the cards that are face up. When all of the matches have been found they will place the remaining cards in the container and shake it up again! This activity keeps them moving and excited about finding matches while all at the same time learning new words and reading!
Game 6: Bee Hive Work Page- In this review or assessment page students will show whether they can identify the long e words to help the bees get back to the hive after a long day of collecting nectar.
