My students need some extra practice with long vowel patterns. However, they get tired of the same old thing. That's why I created this card deck. They'll think they're just playing cards, but I'll be secretly pleased that they're practicing an important skill!
This resource includes:
54 double sided cards (playing content on one side/background on the other)
vowel pattern cards for EA/EE/EY/Y
graphic cards for each of the sounds
Students play just like Go Fish. They draw 7 cards and attempt to make pairs by asking their peers for a card that matches theirs. In this case, they're trying to pair a graphic card with a vowel pattern card. They can only request vowel pattern cards from other players though. Whoever has the most pairs at the end of the game wins, and it's easy for the teacher to check and make sure all of the pairings are correct.
Long E Go Fish pairs learning and fun for a great outcome!
