Teach your students to be flexible with their vowel sounds using this word sort! There are 160 word cards available for long and short vowels a, e, i, o, u.
Suggestions for Use:
-Place vowel headers in a pocket chart OR place magnets on the back so they stick to a large whiteboard. Hand out word cards to students that correspond with your vowels of choice. Students will read the word cards and sort them under the correct heading.
-Use this to help students distinguish between just short vowel sounds or just long vowel sounds. OR mix long and short vowel sounds together.
-Students could also sort words independently at a literacy center.
**There are two heading styles available: Colorful and Burlap
