Long Vowel Dominoes: Long I (ie, i_e, y, igh)
Students learn the different vowel patterns that make the long I sound by playing Dominoes.
Students are asked to match up words that share the same long i vowel pattern. For example, a student can matched sky with try because they both share the y vowel pattern. Another student can matched bite with kite because they share the i_e vowel pattern. Students record their matches on a recording sheet.
