Long Vowel Game!
This phonics game is used to reinforce the sound of the long vowels: a, e, I, o, and u.
This can easily be made into a file folder game and it comes with a game board, game markers, 27 picture cards, and an answer key.
I would print out the game board, directions, and cover on standard white paper and glue it to a file folder. Directions can be glued to the back of the file folder. Laminate the file folder.
Next print out the picture cards on cardstock. There is black and white checkered digital paper that you can print to the backs of the picture cards. Laminate and cut. These can be stored in a standard brown mailing envelope. I have included a label indicating picture cards, answer key for picture cards, and game markers that you can print and cut out and glue onto the mailing envelope.
Print the answer key and laminate for durability purposes.
For the game markers, you can print on white cardstock, fold in half, cut out, and laminate. I would add a mini binder clip to the bottom on each so that they can stand up. You don’t need to use mine. Any markers will do.
This game is intended for two players. Players take turns picking cards from the pile, naming the picture, hearing the long vowel sound, and then moving their piece to the vowel that is closest to them and is a match. They move around the board to end up at the picnic basket.
