Description

Long Vowel Sound Bookmark and Poster Packet with QR codes linking to vowel sound stories.

This bundle includes 28 bright and colorful posters (listing 92 words) and five bookmarks, representing each long vowel sound and the spelling pattern for that sound. There are five bookmarks for additional support for students. Each bookmark includes all spelling patterns that make the long vowel sound (with graphics to support visual learners). Bookmarks can also be used when reading or glued inside the students’ writing workbooks or writing folder.

5 Compact version of posters. All long vowel sound spelling patterns are represented in 5 posters. This has been added to cater for classrooms running out of wall space.

If you’re lucky enough to have access to a mobile device (i.e. ipad) in your classroom, students can scan the QR codes and listen to the vowel sound stories. This is a great literacy center activity.

Long /e/

ea: seat, ear, eat, beat

ee: seed, need, feed, bee

ey: key, money, alley, monkey

y: happy, cubby, hobby, sunny

Long /i/ sound:

I: spider, lion, idol, iron

i_e: bite, kite, mice, site

igh: night, right, high, knight

ie: pie, die, tie, lie

y: cry, my, sty, fly

Long /o/ sounds:

o: go, so, ghost, no

oa: toast, goat, road, toad

o_e: home, nose, globe, bone

oe: hoe, toe, foe, roe

ow: bow, snow, low, tow

Long /u/ sounds:

u: unicorn, unicycle, ukulele, uniform
