I have seen this activity as a beginning sound activity. I needed a fun way to work on long vowels so I created this.
I found small cocktail spoons to and wrote 1 vowel on each and then a magic e. Students would add the middle vowel and read the words then add the magic e spoon to create a long vowel word. You could also use popsicle sticks.
My kids loved it and beg to "make spoon words"
There is a sheet for A,I,O,& U words. I did not create a sheet for e because very few long e words are spelled with a magic e.
These could also be used as a worksheet for your students!
I suggest printing on card stock and laminating. Happy word reading!
