Practice long vowel spellings with graphic organizers. This is a packet of 10 activity pages (5 pages with pictures for cutting and pasting and 5 pages for sorting and gluing) that focus on long vowel spellings while teaching students about tree maps. Students are given three spellings for each long vowel. They write the correct one in the blanks, then cut and paste the words under the correct vowel spelling on the tree map page. This activity makes them actively think about which spelling to use and why (for example: ay usually comes at the end of a word; ai is only at the beginning and in the middle , etc.) several times. They have to write it, sort it, and read it.
