In this activity students put together long vowel sun word families. On the center of the sun is the long vowel word family and on each ray is a word that fits into the family. This is a great springtime/summer literacy center activity. Print on card stock and laminate for durability. This activity comes with a blank sun and rays so the you can add a word family that you are working on in case it is not listed. Also a blank sun worksheet, where you can provide the word family and then students have to write in words on the rays that fit into the family. Great for Kindergarten through second grade as most of the rays have pictures to help students figure out unknown words.
