Long Vowels Flip and Read Game: Each student will get one word board to write on. Laminate these boards so they can be written on with dry erase markers. Student will take turns flipping over a vowel card. If the vowel can make a word or be added to a word to start a word on their board, they write it in. The first student to make all the words on their board is the winner. This can be played individually as well. This activity is great for a center, early finishers, or a partner game!
You can print two sided so that the answers are on the back of each board.
Variation: you can also use blank dice and write the vowels on each side. Students will roll instead of flip.
Another variation: You can use velcro on the boards and on the cards and have the students put the cards right on the boards to make the words. You just may need to cut the letters down smaller.
Great for a center, small groups, or partner games!
Something very similar at teacher stores for $20! Crazy!
Thank you and enjoy!
