Introduce or review what long vowels are!
Day 1: cut the pictures and glue in notebooks then label them with long vowel words
Day 2: cut the words and free sort (however students want)
Day 3: teacher sort (guided sort) and copy words in notebook
Day 4 and 5: speed sort (race), guess my rule, read all words in funny voices, make a story with words, come up with more words that fit in this week’s sorts and add them to their notebook on a post-it, etc
