Played like regular checkers, except that students must read the word before they put their checker onto a square. Variation: Have students read the word and name a rhyming word before placing their checker.

Game boards are presented in black and white or gray and white to save ink.
Each game board comes in two pieces, marked Side A and Side B. The two sides can be laminated together, or glued into a file folder.
