This bundle includes all 5 of the separate long and short vowel letter/sound files: a, e, i, o, and u.
All of the files follow the same format so that you can use two sets (or more) together to extend practice. Use them in combination to address individual student difficulty.
The activities in these sets are excellent practice for letter naming, letter/sound recognition, and phonemic awareness. They can be used for morning work, small group instruction, independent practice throughout the day (centers), or sent home for extra practice.
Included in each set:
Directions for picture/sound sort
Picture cards – 6 focus vowel pictures, 3 distractors (print, cut, laminate)
Directions for picture/word match
Word cards – (print, cut, laminate)
Picture/Word matching answer key
Directions for Concentration/Memory
In one activity, students sort pictures and place the focus pictures on the sorting frame. (The first four pages can be used to create a file folder game, or pages 3 and 4 can be used for a cut-and-paste activity.)
A second activity (differentiation, extension, enrichment) requires students to match pictures with the corresponding word label. An answer key allows students to complete the activity independently.
In the third activity, students use the word cards and picture cards to play a Concentration/Memory game.
