I printed these ice cream scoops on colored paper and laminated each piece. Then, I told students they would be working at an ice cream shop. They sorted the words onto the different cones. I gave fast finishers a dry erase marker and asked them to write the word of each picture on the back of the scoop. The students enjoyed making tall ice cream cones and writing the words.
The following words are included:
ime: dime, crime, lime, time
ide: slide, bride, ride, side
ice: rice, mice, slice, price, dice
ine: line, vine, mine, pine, nine
There are also several blank scoops. Challenge students by having them create their own scoops to go on each cone.
