This exercise combines is interdisciplinary and an opportunity to combine phonics and music. Each "oo" word has a page with a sentence using one of the words and a picture to go with the word. Words used are "moo", "too", "goo", "boo", and "zoo". The final matching slide can be used with a SMART Board or as a print out assessment. Students can read the sentence and then sing the "oo" word while the teacher or a student traces his/her finger along the line indicating how high or low everyone should be singing. When using vocal exploration, it is important to emphasize the difference between high and low, and loud and soft.
