I have to say this is the most concise and absolute best way to teach longitude and latitude! This sheet has been shared all over my school building for many years and is known as the one and only way to teach coordinates. Why teach it with simply a boring textbook map and just list average coordinates? Make it interesting with this worksheet, "Leaving on a Jet Plane!"
This is a worksheet dealing with longitude and latitude entitled, “Leaving on a Jet Plane.” Students will use coordinates from various cities to learn longitude and latitude in a fun way. In order to complete this worksheet you will need a map with longitude and latitude as well as rulers. I usually make it a class competition to see which student can complete it the most quickly with of course the correct answers. As stated above, I have been personally used this self-created worksheet for many years and students have always loved it! I stand by this and all my curriculum materials as a teacher of seven years. I hope they serve you well in your classroom.
