This resource is a 4 page worksheet that guides students to explore properties of longitudinal sound waves by using tuning forks, a cup of water, and their imagination. I use this after teaching the difference between longitudinal and transverse waves, and as a bonus it reinforces the scientific method from the beginning of the school year. The worksheet is editable as it is a Word document. If you want to save on copies, you could create stations with different sections of the worksheet and have students copy it into their interactive notebook (or just on a piece of lined paper). Enjoy!
