A "fun, get-up-and-out-of-your-seat, talk outloud, and competitive" activity to help students master the basics of graphing logarithmic functions and their transformations. [Note: Can also be used as an individual worksheet activity].
This activity provides practice and reinforcement for students who have already been taught how to graph logarithmic equations. Students circulate around the room, having other students draw the appropriate graphs on their activity paper, with the goal to be one of the first students to have all their log equations correctly graphed. In addition to graphing practice, this activity provides an opportunity for student-to-student discussion, assistance, and collaboration. Activity takes between 15 and 25 minutes.
