In Alberta, Grade 2 students gain the opportunity to learn about the three dynamic communities in Canada (Iqaluit, Saskatoon, and Meteghan). Specifically, this resource I created focuses on "Looking at People" from the three communities - Inuit, Ukrainians, and Acadians.
This student booklet is directly aligned with the Alberta Program of Studies and the information is adapted from the Many Voices Textbook by Pearson.
This resource is a great supplement to use as you read through the textbook with your students. You can even print out specific pages from this booklet and use it for assessment purposes.
Some topics included in this booklet are cultural differences, flag recognition, festivals, traditions, and important people from the 3 communities. The answer key is even included at the back for your convenience.
Booklet includes: short answer questions, definitions, matching activities, fill-in-the-blanks, colouring activities, cut and paste, charts, and a wordsearch (for early finishers).
