The students must agree or disagree with the statements. They students will then determine whether the novel agrees or disagrees with the statements throughout their reading assignments.
After they have read the whole book, they will complete the Post-Reading Writing Assignment.
Please note that the teaching duration for this assignment was set at a week. That was the length of time that my students needed to read the entire novel from start to finish and complete the post-reading assignment. Filling out the initial anticipation guide only took my students about ten minutes.
The second page of this download contains five pre-reading questions that ask the students to use their prior knowledge and experiences to answer the questions. These were a great way for my students to link their prior experiences to the text before they even read the novel!
