To get students to think about the characters in a novel more, a character feelings chart can be helpful. In this file, I have a Lord of the Flies feeling chart exercise set up for the novel’s most important characters and when they feel frustration, anger, relief, loneliness, fear, humiliation, and pride. The column for Piggy has an example for each feeling. X's in some of the other boxes for other characters indicates students do not need to fill in those boxes because there are no examples from the story that apply. An answer key is also included in the file.
