This (PC/Windows compatible) video game lets students review William Golding’s Lord of the Flies while exploring a three-dimensional replica of the island. In teams students try to collect key items from the novel (the shell, glasses, etc.) by correctly answering questions from different locations. The game was designed with SmartBoard and Promethean use in mind but can also be played from the classroom PC and projector. I constructed this game so teachers can use it multiple times during the course of reading the novel and adapt it to their classroom needs. Teachers can select which sets of chapters to include in the game (1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 or the whole novel) as well as the number of teams (2-6) and how long they want the game to last (5 min - 90 min).
