What would it be like to be deserted on a desert island with only other kids and no adult supervision?
In the midst of a wartime evacuation, your plane has gone down in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The only survivors are yourself and other children aged 8-12… You have only one goal: the survival of your group…
In this activity, students will use cunning, teamwork, and maybe even murder and thievery to earn the most points and be the ultimate survivors!
DAY 1- Your plane has gone down and you are stranded: Take a character card and personal item (teacher must cut these out). Write a descriptive paragraph about the event.
DAY 2- Form alliances; come up with team rules.
Day 3-4- Make a plan and sabotage the other team by taking a chance with the roll of a dice!
Day 5- Diary Entry of your experience; add the points up to decide a winning group.
(this can be expanded to add activities. I have each of my teams make a flag as well. It could also be extended to take place all through the unit).
