Contained in this file you will find twelve quizzes, one for each chapter in the novel, each one with ten multiple-choice reading comprehension questions and a corresponding answer key.
Along with the quizzes I have included a set of end-of-book small group discussion questions with handy answer blanks for each group’s reporter. These are thought-provoking, high-interest questions that require interpretation, analysis, and evaluation of the text.
A final essay test—also included—asks students to select two of four options and to write a persuasive essay for each. Like the discussion questions, the test questions are designed to get students to think and write critically about the text. You could use it as a conventional one-class period, hand-written timed test, or you could take your class to the computer lab and have them word process their answers during one class period. (I’ve had good success with this option). You might also consider giving it as an overnight take-home test. Of course, you could customize it by having them select anywhere from one to all four of the topics.
Thanks for considering Tim's Toolbox.
