The Unit Test for William Golding's novel The Lord of the Flies is out of 60 marks and includes a key for teachers. There are five sections to the test: plot, quotations, mechanics, vocabulary, and written response. The plot section is fifteen marks and entirely multiple-choice. The quotation section, which is ten marks, involves a short quote which students are to match the speaker from a list. The mechanics section is also out of ten marks and looks at various elements of the novel such as conflict, setting, theme, and so on. It is multiple-choice. The vocabulary section is out of ten marks and is a matching activity. Finally, the written response section is out of fifteen marks and is comprised of three questions.
It is a very comprehensive test, and compliments any unit, including The Lord of the Flies Literature Circle Group Workbook and is included in The Lord of the Flies Unit Plan which is in my store.
