This is a good exercise with which to start (or finish) your study of Lord of the Flies. I like to pre-teach this vocabulary. Or better still, assign groups of students the dictionary work of finding and explaining definitions. Then the crossword becomes a matching exercise, and can be used competitively.
Students are actively learning when completing this task.
A word bank is supplied to support students.
