Lord of the Flies Vocabulary Paper Slide Videos → Editable files!
Students will love exercising their creativity as they write and produce paper slide videos based upon vocabulary words from Lord of the Flies. They will love seeing their peers' work even more!
I like to take about an hour in class to introduce this assignment and allow students to begin creating their videos based upon their assigned words. They get to finish up their videos for homework. I spread the sharing of student work out over several days as we read the novel. We begin class with a few student videos that classmates watch as they take notes. Later, we go through a few Kahoots to review the terms. This activity makes vocabulary study fun--and painless!
This lesson can be completed before, during, or after a reading of The Lord of the Flies. It is very fun—my students thoroughly enjoyed themselves! Be sure that your students have at least one smart phone or camera per group of 2-3 students. Students will also need blank paper, markers, and access to dictionaries and the text.
